Research: Coven GitHub Agent
Public abstract for the private Coven GitHub Agent research brief.
1 min read
The full Coven GitHub Agent — Research Brief is private OpenCoven research. It is maintained in OpenCoven's private research archive and indexed for authorized Salem retrieval from a private source.
This public page intentionally contains only a short abstract so the existence and high-level direction of the work are visible without publishing product strategy, competitive analysis, or implementation details.
Abstract
The brief investigates a Coven-native GitHub App coding agent: a thin GitHub integration that handles webhook intake, installation-token authentication, Check Runs, issue and PR lifecycle, and task status, while delegating actual coding work to the CastCodes execution backend.
The research compares incumbent agent products and open-source systems, studies GitHub App mechanics, and recommends a product direction centered on OpenCoven's differentiators:
- persistent familiar identity
- bring-your-own-model configuration
- composable skills
- cross-session memory
- multi-familiar routing
- Cave as the owned oversight UI
Public Boundary
The full paper is not published in public docs. Public docs should discuss only the abstracted product direction unless OpenCoven explicitly chooses to publish a sanitized version.
Authorized Salem instances may answer from the private paper when configured with the private research source.
